In Q3, 2001, QualComm was in the process of launching QCT as a separate business entity from the Qualcomm Company. The new company would be structured as a CDMA technology company and would have the goal of promoting the CDMA and WCDMA technologies and enabling the adoption of the CDMA technology and the related QCT-developed components across the telecom equipment industry. The QCT company has the mission of enabling the adoption of the CDMA technology and QCT component product for the 3G environment across the telecom equipment sector through the introduction and support of state of the art components and technical architectures.

Initially, QCT’s web presence had the responsibility of conveying technical information on QCT products, current and future, in a timely and cost effective manner while maintaining a strong customer engagement.  However, by being the taking an early role in maintaining a strong digital presence in both content and microsites. Within less than 6 months, QCT had evolved into an informational destination for the engineering community responsible for developing the 3G infrastructure for the telecom industry worldwide. In parallel, the site would foster recruiting activities by playing an active role in online interaction and socialization.
