The 1996 Summer Olympics, known officially as the Games of the XXVI Olympiad and unofficially as the Centennial Olympics, was a major international multi-sport event that took place in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, from July 19 to August 4, 1996. A record 197 nation, all current IOC member nations, took part in the Games, comprising 10,318 athletes. In preparation for the upcoming games, it was decided by the Atlanta Olympic Committee, led by Billie Payne that a significant spend in outfitting the training facilities for incoming athletes would be invested into the enhancement of existing State of Georgia accredited colleges and universities.

In preparation for a potentiating war amongst suppliers, Cynergy mobilized it’s  team to assess the needs of the proposed venues. We worked closely with both government officials and the Atlanta Olympic Committee to leveraging influential relationships within the university system. This resulted in the successful lobbying of a 20% increase in facility equipment funding on a per facility bases. Lastly, Cynergy was able to obtain a single source supply contract for a majority of the Olympic Athletic Facilities and avoided the RFP without violating the rules of the Olympic Committee or that of the venues.
